I suppose I am a dreamer. I dream of a world alive with history and culture that disposes of the austerity of modern life and replaces it with a vibrant mix of humanity and artistic expression. I dream of walking down a modern city street that is adorned like an Ancient Egyptian city with colorful murals that tell the stories of our past and intermingle mythology and rich language. I dream of walking over a translucent floor in a museum in the darkness and with the flip of a switch having the universe spring to life and surround me so I can walk the stars. I dream of sitting along a bubbling creek in the Smokey Mountains and hearing the water pass over the rocks while my imagination takes me to mysterious places.
I’ve been a maker as long as I can recall. Creating everything from poetry to stories to paintings to sketch art and doodles to wood working items in my workshop to writing software. I also enjoy glass blowing, pottery, and black smithing. Making is part of who I am.
I’ve also been a lover of history, folklore, cultures, science and technology. My career has taken me down the high tech path as I’ve been a professional software developer for over 25 years. However my passions for these other things has never diminished. I’ve published several children’s books and made countless wood cutting boards and wooden lanterns as gifts. I hope to bring some of these to my shop in 2024.
