Welcome to my personal blog where I share short stories and art as well as links to products that may interest you.
For as long as I can remember, I have admired the artwork, architecture and craftmanship of ancient cultures along with the beauty of nature. As I make my way around this spinning globe we all live on, I find myself longing for a world more vibrant in art and culture than what I encounter routinely. Our modern world is austre by comparison to ancient cultures. Our city streets have concrete and steel buildings with smoth, simple designs and exteriors. While the engineering is a marvel of its own and some of the architecture is awe inspiring, much of it feels cookie-cutter, repetitive and boring.
When I think about the great cultures of our past including ones like the Greeks and Romans, the Egyptians, the Aztec and Maya, I think of monumental structures, colorful murals and tapestries, pottery and artwork that remain captivating to this day. Traveling to these places is among my life aspirations and my wife and I are slowly making progress on that goal. But sharing this beautiful art and history with the world through art and story telling is another way to expand and improve our world.
